We are a teacher organization that is all embracing, all encompassing, drawing membership from class teachers, school heads, education officers, college lecturers and other workers in education. The Association has ten administrative regions, Harare, Manicaland, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland West, Midlands, Masvingo, Matebeleland South, Matebeleland Central and Matebeleland North. The regions have a combined membership strength of 55000 members.

ZIMTA is a member of several international groupings of educators. We belong to Southern Africa Teachers' Organization (SATO), All Africa Teachers' Organization (AATO) and Education International ( E.I.) .
